The pool of geoscience job openings in the energy sector include positions like goescientist, geoscience technologist, geoscience technician, geoscience specialist, geoscience advisor, geoscience research associate, geoscience engineer, geoscience civil engineer and geoscience lecturer. The responsibilities for most geoscience engineering positions include studying the soil, land or earth; handling construction related projects focusing on tunnels, excavation works etc; analyzing the characteristics of the land and preparing reports for the use of research; studying the land and figuring out any associations of the same with energy generation or conservation and performing other tasks assigned by the supervisor.A geoscience engineering professional typically reports to the director – geoscience engineering. A geoscience engineer has a bachelor of science degree in geotechnical engineering or master of science with specialization in geoscience engineering. Excellent academic credentials are required. Prior experience gained from a civil engineering, geotechnical or soil engineering position may be required for some positions.
