The most known drilling energy positions include positions like drilling energy engineer, drilling advisor, drilling and completions supervisor, drilling superintendent, deepwater drilling engineer, drilling operations manager, drilling foreman, drilling petroleum engineer, drilling safety advisor and drilling engineering manager. A drilling energy professional may be involved in performing any of the following activities, depending on the role: operating drilling machines, performing maintenance on drilling equipments, buying or selling drilling equipments, advising on drilling for petroleum volumes, handling all the drilling activities in a project or supervising drilling staff.A drilling energy professional should have a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, civil engineering or geoscience. Excellent academic credentials are required. Prior experience in drilling may be advantageous.
