The Michigan Economic Growth Authority is expected to grant tax incentives to twenty new business locations and expansion projects. The projects are expected to create more than 6,800 new jobs.
The twenty projects are spread across the entire state and carry hopes of diversifying Michigan’s economy away from a reliance on the automobile industry. The state is looking to attract business in energy, military, and other growing sectors.
Six of the twenty projects are located in Wayne and Oakland counties. Companies receiving the incentives include Testec Incorporated, Kelly Services, Danotek Motion Technologies, Redico Holdings, Ricardo Incorporated, and the Plymouth-based Asian Technical Center of America.
The MEGA board approved incentives in July that are expected to create 3,382 direct new jobs and 3,635 spin-off jobs. The August incentives are expected to create 6,853 direct jobs and 2,642 spin-off jobs.
