The AutoCAD/PDS Operator assigns work, supervises, and provides daily technical direction to AutoCad Drafters and PDS Designers within the department. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES/ACTIVITIES: Assigns project work and schedules work pertaining to AutoCAD drafting and PDS design tasks related to the refining and chemical industry as applicable. Works closely with clients, potential clients, and internal project management to fully understand project requirements. Coordination with design professionals to identify and properly document project related activities. Ensures that all drafting work is performed in a manner which complies with accepted engineering practices and standards, as well as company standards. Prepares and issues all associated design/drafting packages in a timely, thorough and professional manner. Assumes primary responsibility to ensure that all project quality and deliverables schedules are met in a timely manner in order to meet client needs. Communicates and coordinates with internal and external departments to achieve resolution to project-related activities. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Experience with AutoCAD 2013 â€“ 2018 (Autodesk) Must possess good interpersonal skills and the ability to work closely with design professionals at a project level. Must exhibit a professional demeanor, work well in a team environment, and be able to build effective working relationships with diverse personalities. Documented Training certification in AutoCAD and PDS. Position is within an office environment and as such, work is primarily sedentary in nature, no special demands are required. High School Diploma Required. Degree preferred. Minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible drafting and/or construction related CAD experience with emphasis on petrochemical piping and fixed equipment discipline AutoCAD, PDS (piping design, isometric drawing extraction, etc.), MicroStation, Smart Plant Review, and SPI experience required. ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL FUNCTIONS: Frequent lifting up to 30 lbs.
