This position is a functional member of Marine Transportation Team (MTT) reporting to the Asset Integrity Manager.
Responsibilities for this position include:
Oversees the company's Fuel and Efficiency Management efforts. Supports Chevron vessels on a day to day basis resolving fuel issues.
Understanding of vessel commercial requirements and how fuel and efficiency management can be optimized.
Knowledge of marine fuels and vessel onboard fuel usage; understanding challenges with fuel purification, storage, heating and cooling.
Abreast of IMO and other regulatory requirements affecting fuel usage onboard vessels ensuring company compliance.
Works with HES for fleet worldwide emissions reporting
Manages worldwide bunker suppliers
Ability to understand data analytics to drive efficiency decisions
Understanding of Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) and Condition Based Maintenance (CBM) philosophies. Having demonstrated work experience applying these maintenance philosophies is necessary. Ability to champion RCM and CBM within the organization.
Knowledge and background in systems engineering, preferably marine engineering.
Ability to understand complex systems, including rotating machinery, prime movers (diesel engines and steam turbines), diesel generators, pumps, compressors, pneumatics, hydraulics, electrical power & control piping systems, valves, etc.
Ability to clearly communicate in English - both in writing and orally.
Ability to understand and use complex software systems. Proficiency in Microsoft applications, specifically Excel, to create spreadsheets and charts. Ability to understand databases for reporting and analytics
Good personal skills and ability to positively interact with a broad subset of stakeholders both seagoing and shoreside.
Good analytical skills. Ability to review data, determine trends and propose solutions to issues.
Ability to develop metrics and KPI's to quantify results.

Bachelor's degree in marine engineering or naval architecture
Minimum of 5 years engineering experience; reliability engineering, marine engineering or naval architecture.
Ability to visit company vessels and service providers
Demonstrated project management skills.
Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate (written and verbal) at all levels of the organization to convey ideas, motivate and demonstrate subject matter expertise.
Strong leadership skills. Demonstrated ability to negotiate with strong influencing skills and ability to collaborate with all levels of the organization.
Strong interpersonal skills. Ability to work collaboratively foster cooperation and teamwork with a diverse group of people.
Strong computer skills - proficient at Maximo and MS Office.
Effective facilitation and presentation skills
Strong organizational and communication skills.
Demonstrated knowledge of marine practices, regulatory requirements, and industry standards.
