Role Summary:
As a member of the Plant Management team, the Production Manager ensures a safe working environment, a high level of quality in products and processes, a high level of productivity, and employee wellbeing. This is done while planning, directing, and monitoring all production activities, personnel, and equipment to maximize safety, quality and productivity in their assigned area.
Essential Responsibilities:
As the Production Manager, you will:
Ensure all areas comply with health and safety requirements to create an accident free environment
Ensure all production activities comply with quality requirements
Understand current performance situation at the blade level
Review in detail the last blade performance, quality, and cycle time to identify blade trends
Track raw material and consumables usage, and recommend measures to reduce cost
Monitor team performance and manage annual performance evaluations with all direct reports
Monitor weekly and monthly production plans, and ensure delivery
Attend daily production meetings, communicate production status, and flag up critical issues that need additional support
Promote and support implementation of improvement ideas (WHY NOT) in the allocated area of work
Determine adequate quantity of trained personnel requirements
Champion the quality of the product manufactured
Plan and direct production activities by establishing production priorities
Coordinate and supervise activities of production personnel including training and evaluating performance
Recommend or initiate personnel action such as disciplinary and discharge measures
Qualifications/Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or Business Management
Minimum of 7 years of experience with a proven track record from a broad range of positions as an Engineer or Supervisor
Desired Characteristics:
Demonstration of a high level of understanding for organizational practices and production technology
Ability to travel both international and domestic estimated to be less than 10% of time
Lean; TPM; Kanban & Six Sigma knowledge
HSE knowledge
Awareness on ISO 14001 (HSE) and OSHAs 18001 systems
QMS 9001 knowledge
Strong oral and written communication skills
Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
Ability to influence others and lead small teams
Lead initiatives of moderate scope and impact
Ability to coordinate several projects simultaneously
Effective problem identification and solution skills
Proven analytical and organizational ability
