Description Perform preventative maintenance and repair of all equipment in the Power Plant. Perform minor repairs as well as major repairs and overhauls to equipment. Work closely with the maintenance crew chief and lead mechanic to provide safe and reliable equipment operation and support. Subject 24 hour call back for emergencies and maintenance department (emergency on-call rotation). May be required to carry a page and/or cell phone. Qualifications Required: High school diploma/GED. Threeu00a0years experience in equipment maintenance, troubleshooting and repair. Basic math skills. Basic computer skills. Must have or have the ability to obtain Physical Plant license to operate fork truck and lifts within three months. Ability to read and interpret blue prints. Must have skills in operating a variety of tools and equipment including (but not limited to) Arc & Mig welders, cutting torch & plasma cutter, overhead cranes and manlifts. Ability to assist with the installation, repair and maintenance of all power plant equipment. Ability to properly install, repair, and maintain pumps, valves, filters, air compressors and assist in chiller maintenance. Ability to work in high pressure environment and communicate effectively (verbally and in writing) with various types of people. Ability to work from heights up to 10 feet. Valid US or Canadian driver's license. Ability to obtain and maintain a CDL license within first year of employment. Must be willing to work any shift, weekends and holidays. Must be available for call back operations. Occasional overtime may beu00a0required.
