Role Summary:
This position will be the business sourcing management person for the assigned sub commodity
Essential Responsibilities:
Through strong technical / market expertise a successful candidate will:
Work closely with respective GCL / P/L SOU Leader to drive China Sourcing Strategy through commodity assignment
Screen, identify, and develop potential suppliers to grow China buy for assigned commodities.
Support GCL / P/L SOU Sourcing leader to execute RFQ (Request For Quotation) packages, negotiate Pricing and Supply Agreement; implement Terms & Conditions in line with sourcing strategy
Responsible for assigned commodity strategy, implementation, and supplier development
Follow material market trend and implement in supplier cost negotiation
Conduct business practices in line with integrity and compliance
Own and manage key suppliers’ performance to ensure long term cooperation
Support business planning sessions, including supplier strategy, volume & deflation
Program management of key projects/products pulling in in resources needed for success.
BS / BA Degree (metallurgy, materials, mechanical or Business)
At least 2 years sourcing / operational / manufacturing experience
Cross-functional and International team experience
Large size fabrication; Subsea and Drilling fabrication experience is a PLUS
Demonstrated negotiation skills, contract development and business law knowledge
High motivation and influencing skills
Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
Strong team player, Strong interpersonal / facilitation skills
Able to handle multi-task at same time
Proactive and positive self-starter with energy, enthusiasm and ability to execute
Experienced working skills with Microsoft Suite (i.e. Word, Excel and PowerPoint) and web based tools
Frequent travel required
Desired Characteristics:
Experience in Oil& Gas industry, especially in Drilling & Subsea equipment mfg
GE OMLP (for GE Internal candidates)
Project management experiences
Ability to decode engineering prints / specification / manufacturing processes
Buyer background in a heavy manufacturing environment
