Position Summary: SSOE Group is seeking a talented senior-level Power Engineer for our Midland office location. For this role, the candidate must have consulting experience working with power systems, protective relaying, power studies, power modeling, arc flash mitigation, and ground systems in industrial facilities, substations, and power plants. This individual will provide leadership for electrical projects assigned to SSOE's Midland office, as well as direct junior engineers and designers in the development of various deliverables. Chemical design experience required. Engineering degree from an ABET accredited program is required. Primary Duties and Responsibilities: Lead effort for development of Electrical design / construction packages and deliverables. Interface with client and internal Team to develop scope of work and coordination of design. Develop and maintain one line diagrams. Develop electrical specifications and written construction scopes of work. Design electrical power systems per NEC including electrical raceways Develop and apply electrical installation details. Design and specify MCCs, power Distribution Panels and wiring. Checking and technical assurance of drawings and specifications. Minimum Education and Experience: Bachelor's Degree / DIRECT / 8 OSHA 10/30-hour Construction Certificate preferred. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Knowledge of industrial electrical systems, substations, and power generation including power system calculations. Knowledge of relay panels, control schematics and wiring diagrams. Short circuit, load flow and relay coordination studies. Excellent written and verbal skills including ability to coordinate design team activities. Strong computer skills.
