Essential Responsibilities:
The Senior Requisition Engineer will ensure fulfillment of customer orders in compliance with contractual requirements. In doing so, you will:
Actively participate in customer meetings, being able to connect customer needs with our products’ available options and features
Assist the Project office team to ensure successful project gate reviews as ultimate engineering responsible
Translate project requirements into product definition within our system of record, PLM, and issue bills of materials to supply chain
Ensure product compliance with project and customer specific requirements (EHS, Regulatory Compliance, certification, DTOs for customizations, etc.)
Provide timely & accurate responses to customer technical inquiries and issues, efficiently leveraging our global matrixed engineering organization as needed
Identify all necessary deliverables for each phase of the project and implement necessary actions to get them duly delivered on time.
Provide technical support to customers and field teams for turbine assembly, installation, and commissioning through final customer acceptance of the wind farm
Create and/or facilitate project specific customer & commissioning documentation
Facilitate the configuration of control software and parameters based upon the site requirements and specific unit configurations
Establish and maintain relationships with both external and internal representatives to ensure that customer requirements are ultimately understood and achieved
Manage project schedules, providing direction through clear written instructions regarding special customer requirements to component owners and allocated resources to complete engineering deliverables in support of projects timelines
Liaise between customers and Engineering regarding balance of plant equipment for configuring interfaces, safety protections, and control systems for both the wind turbine and the entire wind farm
Manage cross-functional teams in executing customer specific designs per contractual requirements
Mentor team members and drive best practices and learnings from one project to another
Identify key project technical risks & associated mitigation plans and provide timely communications on significant issues
Identify project opportunities increasing project margin and drive associated variation orders
Manage engineering budget and KPIs to achieve project goals
Apply GE and industry processes and standards
Support the resolution of non-conformities and implementation of design changes (EC)
Qualifications/Requirements:
Master's Degree in Engineering
Minimum 10 years of experience in engineering with experience in project management
Ability and availability to travel (national and international: UK, US) up to 20% of the year
Desired Characteristics:
Demonstrated experience in interacting with external customers
Fluent in English (written and spoken).
Used to work in global multidisciplinary teams
Strong, self-directed, collaborative team player with interpersonal, communication, & presentation skills
Comfortable providing technical presentations to peers, customers, and leadership regarding the details of technical issues and project status. Strong technical aptitude, including applicable engineering tools and systems
Experience using PLM (Enovia)
Project or Business management complementary education. Strong Project Management experience
Experience in wind turbine business
Ability to interpret technical drawings, wiring schematics, and 3D models
Understanding of grid integration requirements
Experience with technical interfaces definition among several customer contractors, including structural, mechanical and electrical components.
If not already familiar with basic network tools (IP addresses), control systems, and SCADA systems, the candidate must be enthusiastic about gaining a fundamental working knowledge of these tools within three to six months
