Description As part of the HSC Office of Facilities Management and reporting to the Assistant Director of Facilities, the Electrical Department Supervisor has overall responsibility for the daily operation of the electrical shop and for the care and maintenance of the Hospital & University\u2019s electrical infrastructure and back-up power on the Temple University HSC Campus. The supervisor is a key member of a management team of other skilled trades supervisors providing maintenance support required to optimize the Hospital and the University\u2019s learning and research environment. Perform other duties as assigned. Required Education & Experience: At least 3 years of directly related experience. A Master Electrician Certification through the ICC or local authority; supervisory experience that includes overseeing electrical trades. Demonstrated experience of planning, estimating, procuring and executing renovation jobs and coordinating with other trade managers within a union and\/or healthcare environment. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. Required Skills & Abilities: * Knowledge of strict adherence to the NEC and safe working practices.* Demonstrated knowledge of planning, estimating, procuring and executing renovation jobs and coordinating with other trade managers. * A valid driver\u2019s license and have the ability to drive to and between job sites* Knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, Electronic Payroll processing (Kronos), electronic procurement, email, etc.* A strong background and experience with medium voltage equipment, cable and switching.* Knowledge of control theory, building mechanical systems and automation systems. * Ability to plan, coordinate, communicate and facilitate critical electrical system shutdown events.* A strong customer service focus.* Availability to work long hours on demand as needed. * Ability to occasionally work an on-call schedule.* Ability to periodically work overnight for electrical shut-downs.
