The middle-level information technology jobs such as programmer, hardware engineer, chip designer, system and network administrator, software developer, security engineer, marketing executive, researcher, and biotechnologist require higher qualifications, skills, and training than the lower-level technology jobs. For middle-level information technology jobs, normally, a diploma of three years or a degree of four years or maybe more is required.
For higher-level information technology jobs such as network manager, business manager (e-commerce, software, hardware, etc.), CTO (chief technology officer), CIO (chief information officer), VP — technology, president — technology, director (technology/research), the same education level or maybe higher, such as PhD with higher experience and excellent communication skills and management, may be required. Most of the higher information technology jobs in the management domain require a degree in MBA (master of business administration) coupled with the technical degree.
