Solar energy analyst positions are becoming more prominent as more individuals are becoming energy conscious. As energy–consulting businesses arise, this is opening the door for more jobs in energy.

The main duty of an energy analyst may be involved with the mainstream of the business he is applying for the position in.

Entry-level energy jobs are available for the solar energy analysts by way of support services. Usually they will be assigned to work closely with the energy engineer. Energy industry jobs are not just comprised of energy engineer positions or even solar energy analysts. There are many other positions to be filled in this industry. A person interested in a job in energy should gather as much information as possible as to what the various jobs entail.



Site development is one of the job requirements for a solar energy analyst. The applicant must be able to manage employees responsible for the installation and maintenance of equipment. All safety requirements must be addressed and enforced. The successful applicant must be astute at data collection and quality control. People skills are a requirement that the applicants must be sure they possess when going after energy job opportunities. The job functions not only include working with co-workers but also involve perhaps, some management functions and dealing with clients as well. The duties of the solar energy analysts will vary according to the specific firms they are applying for. The same will apply for skills and experience. Each employer will have his/her own requirements.

Communication skills are very important. The solar energy analysts must no doubt, be able to communicate on technical issues; all the same they will be involved with many non-technical personnel as well, so they must be able to communicate with them in accordance with their level of technical knowledge.

If the candidates for energy jobs are able to speak other languages it is a real benefit to some companies involved in solar energy. Many times, companies have contracts in other countries. Therefore, it may also be a job requirement that the individuals be able to travel a good deal. They may be required to relocate as well.

There are also energy sales jobs available. These may not demand an engineer’s degree but they will demand a sound knowledge of what the energy job entails and will also require sales experience.

Energy manager jobs demand a lot more commitment on behalf of the applicants, and individuals who are involved in energy job search must keep this in mind if they are seeking management positions.

Solar energy analysts can expect to make somewhere around $85,000 yearly depending on the entry level at which they are entering and the experience they have. Salaries are dependent on the company, location, and the particular industry, and will vary accordingly.

Applications for jobs as solar energy analysts must be accompanied with very detailed professional resumes. These are not low paying positions and require professionals to fill them. Although there are several energy industry jobs one can apply for, it should be remembered that it is a competitive field. As solar energy industry grows, so does the competition for jobs in the market. More schools will open to prepare students for the job demand that will occur within the industry.

If an individual were seeking an entry level position then it would be ideal if it was in a company that would be able to open doors for advancement. An entry-level position that is a little lower paying is sometimes worth taking in comparison to the energy job with regular salary, if there is going to be room for advancement.

When seeking job in the solar energy industry watch carefully for job openings and check if they are requiring the skills you possess. There is no point in going after a job that you do not possess the skills for. If required perhaps you could take some extra courses to help you get the job you have the most interest in.
